With help from a friend in Australia, Ian trialled using coconut oil to run a similar generator here for several months.
Now, the coconut oil made by the villagers fuels the generator and all 30 homes there have light so that activities, like homework, can be done in the evenings.
The same method of filtering the coconut oil has been used to run hand tractors, making considerable saving on running cost for the farmers.
